Robert G. Newman ’34

Issue

Jan - Feb 2010

Robert G. Newman ’34 died on April 26, 2009. Bob was a lifelong bachelor and had no living relatives at the time of his death except, possibly, some of his cousins from California and France. Bob was a self-effacing man and was admired greatly for his keen intellect and droll sense of humor by both his classmates and his peers in his native town of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where he was the head of the local library for many years. At college he was a writer for the Jack-O-Lantern. After graduating he was the editor for the 25th reunion yearbook and a president of the local Dartmouth Club in Massachusetts for one year.
